Who We are
Wesswood International College
Wesswood College, founded in 2007 as a mixed school with just 50 students and 7 teachers, began in a modest building along Kurunegala Road, Katugastota. Under the leadership of its first principal, Mr. Liyanarachchi, the school steadily grew in size and reputation. By 2018, Wesswood expanded to separate locations for boys and girls, though it now operates under one roof in its own dedicated building. Today, Wesswood College educates around 700 students, supported by a staff of 65-70, all under the guidance of a proactive Board of Management that ensures the school’s continued growth and success.
Sports at Wesswood College
Wesswood College provides a well-rounded sports program aimed at fostering physical fitness, teamwork, and resilience. Students can participate in popular team sports, including volleyball, basketball, football, and cricket, which encourage collaboration and school spirit.
Individual skill-building sports like karate and table tennis offer opportunities for personal growth and self-discipline, while scouting and cadetting programs promote leadership and community service.
Together, these sports and activities help students achieve a balanced education, supporting both academic and personal development.
